![]() As many of you know may or may not know, my father was diagnosed with LUNG CANCER in 2010. He was never a smoker and was always pretty active throughout his life, so no one can really explain why my father contracted the big "C" or how for that matter! Thankfully, he is a survivor and has been in remission for the last 3 years! He was able to walk my little sister down the aisle at her wedding earlier this month! It was a very special moment for my entire family, but especially for my sister..... So naturally, this is where my passion for the cause comes from and why I support the efforts of the American Lung Association. First of all, a giant THANK YOU to those who have signed up online to walk, donate or do both! I can't begin to express my gratitude... This will be the 6th event I have been involved with to support the American Lung Association in our Fight for Air, Research and implementation of programs to help those with any kind of lung problem! This walk is a short, beautiful course and the auction items are going to be amazing. I would really encourage everyone to come out and support the cause, as we all have lungs and heaven forbid you or any of your loved ones are affected by this terrible disease....because if and when it happens, the news will take your breath away, trust me! This event is less an a month away and you can still sign up online. I would love it if we could get at least 10 more GRG Members to walk and it would be even better if we could get some donations as well! Thanks for your support! G.L. Schaublin, the proud daughter of a Lung Cancer Survivor
